We Stand with Prentice Ponds!

We Stand with Prentice Ponds!

Refocused and Informed Radio Talk Show hosts Angela K. Chambers and Sondia O. Bell spoke with Prentice Ponds via a telephone call from prison and his story shook listeners. Now, if you haven’t heard the story, Prentice Ponds it's in prison for Life plus 25 years in Oklahoma.

What’s the Actual Case?

The general public heard gut-wrenching testimony from Prentice, bringing the Hosts to tears. To hear of such railroading in the 21st century is very painful. This is why we can’t stress enough the importance of raising voice for the innocent man.

What's important to remember:

  • Prentice Ponds was in his own home when he was attacked

  • Prentice Ponds didn’t have a fight and rather defended himself against the Insurance Investigator

  • The Insurance Investigator did not want to press charges

  • The Tulsa Metropolitan Area - Compliance, Steve Colburn, wanted Prentice Ponds to be prosecuted

  • The police investigated and did not charge Prentice Ponds

  • The arresting officer apologized to Prentice Ponds for his earlier arrest by Steve Colburn and wished that everything would work out for him

  • The original case was dismissed

  • Prentice is serving a Life plus 25 years sentence in the State of Oklahoma

This could be YOU, your son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, or a friend!

Have you heard the emotional and painful story of Mr. Prentice Ponds yet? Do you want to support an innocent Black Man who was wronged by the unfair justice system?

Then please show up SATURDAY, MARCH 26th for the Rally for Prentice Ponds at 3:00 PM at Ella Mae's, 5013 N Peoria Ave, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Every effort counts!

Prentice should be home with his family and we, as a community, should be there for him!

It's time to take a serious look at the laws governing Oklahoma. It’s time to determine who is responsible to ensure true justice is served and that abuse of power is not a part of the process. After all, we can’t and shouldn’t stay silent at racial injustice and raise a peaceful voice.

After broadcasting the show on Thursday afternoon, a myriad of people reached out to the show hosts, stating they were railroad by the Oklahoma judicial system too. Do you have a similar story?

PoliticoMagazine reported that, "In 2016, Oklahoma incarcerated more people per capita than any other state".

In 2016, Chris Steele’s Non-profit organization crafted State Question 780 which downgraded some felonies to misdemeanors. This initiative also led to a reduction of incarcerations.

While that has reduced the number of incarcerations, it still does not address those who were wrongfully convicted such as Prentice Ponds and others who were freed in 2010 in Police corruption scandal in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Prentice deserves nothing less than true justice. And it’s his right to get released from jail already.
