Greenwood Chamber of Commerce is Under Attack - A Factual Review
Staff Writer Being the 2 nd oldest US chamber of commerce and the first Black chamber in the country, the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce has been helping local businesses for decades. The Chamber has turned 96 years old this year and deserves the support of our community. However, unfortunately, an unfair complaint was filed on August 19, 2022, against the organization in response to tenant-related issues. Now, the Chamber of Commerce and its current administration are under attack. Lies Against OUR Chamber of Commerce The business owner of DW Speak Easy has been spreading false news to tarnish the reputation of the Chamber. There are reports against the business about code violations with the Fire Department and they are now pressurizing the Chamber to pay for THEIR OWN mistakes. The interesting fact is that it’s promoted as a Black-owned business entity and Devin Williams claims to be the owner.
