2nd Annual World Class Winter Charity Gala Is Here

The 1st Annual World Class Winter Charity Gala held in 2021 was a huge success. Attended by over 500 guests, the event helped collect generous donations to support women-owned and minority businesses in Tulsa. The event will be back this year on December 17th.

How Women-Owned Businesses Make an Impact on the Economy

Women-led small businesses have proved to be a vital force to uplift the economy. By 2022, there are 13 million women-owned businesses across the US. And this number is constantly increasing.

These businesses create employment opportunities and offer over 9 million professionals career opportunities. The total revenue generated by women-owned business entities has reached $1.9 trillion which is plausible. However, it’s important to support them and take measures to resolve issues facing businesses led by women.

Lack of financial resources, limited partnership options, and glass ceiling, are among the major issues that hinder their growth.

GCC Supporting Women-Owned Businesses

The Historic Greenwood Chamber of Commerce has made it its mission to serve the community. Led by Dr. Freeman Culver, GCC preserves the legacy of Black Wall Street by supporting local businesses with a special focus on women-owned businesses.

The organization arranges networking events, connects entrepreneurs with grant opportunities, and promotes Black-owned businesses.

Thus, arranging the 2nd Annual World Class Winter Charity Gala is a part of their mission to introduce businesses in the Greenwood district to potential customers and strategic partners. The last year’s event was attended by over 500 guests. GCC is back again in the driving seat this year with its 2nd annual event and is eager to support women-owned and minority businesses with this networking event.
