Refocused and Informed Talk Show is Going in a New Direction

Angela K. Chambers and Sondia O. Bell are serial entrepreneurs and have a heart for the community. Since the show launched on January 6th, 2022, they strived to highlight challenges faced by our people and come up with solutions.

Thus, the show is ready to go in a specific direction and talk more about a critical problem – justice system reforms.

Oklahoma is known for its unusually high imprisonment rate. So many Black people are convicted without a fair trial and serve prison time due to prevalent injustice and corruption by officials.

The show will now focus on this bias and corruption in the criminal justice system of Oklahoma. The reason behind this change is mainly due to the case of Prentice Ponds.

The Inspiration Comes from Prentice Ponds’ Case

The host, Angela K. Chambers came across the case of Prentice Ponds who is serving Life+25 years for a crime he said he didn’t commit. After careful planning, the host has decided to highlight such heartbreaking cases on the show and raise a voice against injustice and inequality.

Prentice Ponds was arrested on the charges of robbery and insurance fraud after an insurance adjuster attacked him at his own house. The case was once dropped but Prentice Ponds was later arrested despite the plaintiff dropping the charges.

Mr. Ponds has still maintained his innocence. Now, he seeks a fair trial where he wants to prove his innocence.

The trial is a real example of prejudice. The sentence of Life+25 years on charges of robbery and insurance fraud is unheard of and doesn’t make sense.

As a community, we ought to support Prentice Ponds and other innocent people who are convicted without a fair trial.

The Radio Talk Show is a Community-Focused Show

Refocused and Informed Radio Talk Show is a community-centric show. It’s known for promoting local businesses, entrepreneurs, and non-profit organizations that are working for people.

The hosts have made an impact on the audience with their insightful discussions. This is why the show has become popular not only in Tulsa but in other places too.

Inspired by the case of Prentice Ponds, the talk show is now going in an important direction and will revolve around justice system reforms.

The weekly talk show broadcasts on KBOB 89.9 FM every Thursday from 2:00-3:00 PM. Also, the show streaming is available on Facebook LIVE@KBOB899 and www.kbob899.com.
