Refocused & Informed Radio Talk Show Celebrates Its 1st Anniversary

We can’t believe it’s already been a year since Refocused & Informed Radio Talk Show launched the first episode on 6th January 2022. The talk show on KBOB 89.9 FM is now celebrating its 1st anniversary and the special anniversary episode will broadcast live on 5th January 2023.

During the last year, the program received plenty of love and support from listeners. We are grateful and thank you all.

With the show entering its second year of broadcast, we look forward to your continued support.

Hosted by Angela K. Chambers and Co-host Sondia Bell, the show informs listeners and discusses pertinent community issues. Also, we aim to provide solutions to refocus and promote local businesses and entrepreneurs.

In 2023, Refocused & Informed Radio Talk Show is taking a new turn. Angela Chambers will host the show and she will be joined by different guest hosts every month. The episodes to be released in the new year will focus on a critical challenge for our community – advocating for criminal justice reforms.

A Brief Overview of Our 2022 Broadcasts

2022 was an amazing year for the team behind Refocused & Informed Radio Talk Show. We hosted community-centric shows, got to meet and talk to several amazing guests, and got plenty of support from our amazing followers.

In January, Jimmy Lawson, Makayla West, and Reggie Cooper of the Muscle Squad appeared on our show as guests.

The month of February was all about Black Wealth and Black History Month. So, we invited Jessica Parker, Mr. Calvin, Billie Parker of the Black Wall Street Market, and a member of the As Salam Alaikum Revolution to our show.

The episodes in March featured Yolanda Lucas, Marilyn Vann, and Amanda Woody. The highlight of the month was the episode where we hosted the children of Prentice Ponds. Mr. Prentice Ponds then joined us on a phone call to share his heart-wrenching story.

In April, we focused on highlighting non-profit organizations. So, Kelli Cooper, Elnora Brown, and Cassandra Prear joined us. Further, our co-host, Sondia O. Bell talked about her not-for-profit, Jacob’s Bridge to Learning.

In the month of May, we had Steve Reagor, Cawanna Boyd-DeLouiser who is the owner of Snagg’s Boutique, and Channen Smith as guests.

The theme for June was supporting Black Authors and artists. So, Arthur Brown, Nigel Beckles, Tradara McLaurine, and artist Juvie Ray became our guests.

Then in July, businesswomen Whitney Jones and Mia Collins joined us. For the other episodes during the month, we had non-profit organization founders Anthony Tinervia Jr. and Dale Ackerson-Dobbins as our respected guests.

In August, the hosts of Refocused & Informed Radio Talk Show met movers and shakers in the community. So, we got to meet Tanisha Scott, David Harris, and Don Walker.

Our guests for episodes that went live in September were Marcus Boyd, the owner of the Creative Suites, and the founder of the 1256 Movement. Adam Martin, who was the candidate for Congress from the Democratic Platform for the recently concluded elections also made an appearance on our show.

We met business owners in October including Meghan Scott, Veronica Harrison, Sade Banks, and the founder of the Black Flower Society.

November episodes featured Eli Grayson, Meagan Pinkney of Joseph’s Ministry, and Dr. J Montana.

Lastly, for our shows held in December, Francetta Mays (the newly elected President of NAACP Tulsa branch#6143), Kevin “KD” Washington Sr., and Joe Deere of Cherokee Nation joined us.

Plans for RIRTS in 2023

No description available.

The host Angela K. Chambers has some exciting plans for episodes in the upcoming year. She intends to invite amazing guests this year too and talk about several topics of interest. In January, Francetta Mays will be the guest host.

The show will highlight cases of innocent people like Prentice Ponds who got railroaded and were unfairly convicted. The show aims to shed light on such legal cases and raise awareness about the importance of fairness and reforms in the criminal justice system.

2022 was a great year.  Angela hopes to receive continued support from the listeners of the show this year too.

Tune in to our weekly show every Thursday on KBOB 89.9 FM from 2:00-3:00 PM CST. For any questions or suggestions, contact the host Angela K. Chambers at (918)280-9265 or refocusedinformed@gmail.com.
