NAACP Announcements: Committee Meetings

NAACP Tulsa branch#6143 is starting the new year with the goal to work for a positive change in the community. The new leadership has taken charge and planned a series of activities and events for the cause.

The local chapter has a lot of work to do. So, it’s important to prepare strategies that can assist in finding solutions for problems our community is facing.

On Tuesday, 10th January, two meetings are scheduled where members will discuss plans for upcoming months.

Executive Board Meeting

Led by President Francetta Mays, NAACP Tulsa#6143 has announced the first Executive Board Meeting for its Board Members.


The meeting will be held on Tuesday, 1/10/23. The meeting mode is Virtual and will be conducted online.


First General Membership Meeting

The organization has membership meetings every second Tuesday of the month where new members of the NAACP meet the team and discuss plans and strategies. The newly-elected team is continuing the tradition.

The first General Membership meeting is planned for Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 7:00 PM. The meeting’s venue is Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N Hartford Ave, Tulsa, OK.

Committee Meeting

Communications Committee meeting is scheduled on the same day, Tuesday, January 10 at 6PM.

Angela K. Chambers is the Vice President of the NAACP Tulsa branch#6143 and chairperson of Communications, Press and Publicity. She will lead us Strategic Planning session on 1/10/23 at 6:00 PM at the Rudisill Regional Library.


On the morning, of 20th January, Sondia O. Bell, the Legal Redress Chairperson of Tulsa NAACP will conduct a committee meeting at TCC Campus Downtown, Rudisill Regional Library, 909 S Boston Ave., 2nd floor at 10:00 AM.

Greenwood Chamber of Commerce Faces Fire Threats from Tenant  Staff Writer Greenwood Chamber of Commerce has been repeatedly receiving fire threats from disgruntled tenant. This aggressive behavior against the non-profit organization has affected its operations, making it difficult for the administration to support local businesses. Why Fire Watch Was Issued Devin Williams, the owner of DW Speak Easy, recently filed a report against the Chamber. The business owner accused the Chamber of violating building maintenance laws which resulted in his business failure. However, the business failed due to the mismanagement and lack of planning of the business owner and has been sued in court on unpaid agreements. After being sued and losing his case, Williams has been involved in propaganda against the Chamber of Commerce with the help of the former chamber member and friends including a local radio show and local news outlet.
