NAACP Tulsa branch#6143 is working in full swing to change the narrative about the community and make a positive impact. With the new leadership taking charge at the start of 2023, the Inaugural Service & Fundraising Gala is announced on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

The fundraising Gala is the introductory event for officer installation.

NAACP Tulsa members elected a fresh leadership team in the elections of November 5, 2022. The team includes Francetta Mays (President), Angela K. Chambers (Vice President), Anna Marie Gaines (Secretary), Arthetha Pouncil (Treasurer), Jane Malone (Executive Member), and Pleas Thompson (Executive Member).

The new team will meet the community and discuss issues prevalent in the community. Also, the team will share plans for NAACP in the upcoming months and how it plans to bring change.

The Inaugural Gala is a fundraising event. So, the proceedings received through tickets and donations will go toward NAACP’s community-centric programs.

There are several activities planned for attendees. The event duration will be around 4 hours during which attendees can network, eat, and get swag bags. Also, there will be vendor stalls where local businesses will showcase their products.

Greenwood Chamber of Commerce Faces Fire Threats from Tenant  Staff Writer Greenwood Chamber of Commerce has been repeatedly receiving fire threats from disgruntled tenant. This aggressive behavior against the non-profit organization has affected its operations, making it difficult for the administration to support local businesses.
